SNWI The Stomach/Ryle's tube, also known as a nasogastric tube, is a medical device that is inserted through the nose and down into the stomach to administer nutrition, medication, or remove fluids from the stomach. It is a flexible tube made of rubber or plastic. Ryle's tubes can be used to deliver liquid food directly into the stomach when a person is unable to eat or swallow on their own, or to drain stomach contents in cases of gastric obstruction or gastrointestinal bleeding.
